In Memory of Harivansh Rai Bachchan

Remembering Harivansh Rai Bachchan; on his death anniversary.
 


An Indian poet of the Nayi Kavita literary movement of the early 20th century in Hindi Literature. He was also a poet of the Hindi kavi Sammelan. He is best known for his early work Madhushala.His writings are considered to be a landmark in Hindi Literature. Harivansh Rai Bachchan is the 2nd Indian to get his Doctorate from Cambridge. Bachchan's autobiography also numbers among his best known works. On 18 January 2003, he breathed his last in Mumbai. A square in Wroclaw, Poland, which was declared as a UNESCO city of literature, has been named after Hari Vansh Rai Bachchan and a statue of him has also been erected there. He often used to introduce himself as-Mitti ka tan, masti ka man, kshan-bhar JivanMera Parichay (A body of clay, a mind full of play, a second of life-that's me.)
